AFK Journey Crowned Google Play's Game of the Year

The editorial team at Google Play has named AFK Journey as the top game of the year. Developed by Lilith Games and published by Farlight, this idle RPG allows players to continue earning experience points and resources even when not actively playing. According to Google's best games of 2024 post, AFK Journey impressed the Play editorial team with its "stunning animation, exceptional voice acting, and captivating world". Meanwhile, Supercell emerged as the only developer to secure two wins, taking home the award for best multi-device game with Clash of Clans, which offers a seamless experience across smartphones, tablets, and PCs, and best multiplayer for Squad Busters. Squad Busters, launched in May, is Supercell's sixth game and achieved $1.1 million in revenue on its first day and $24 million in its first month. Other notable winners include Hoyoverse, Noodlecake, and Netmarble.
