PlayStation Introduces Cloud Gaming Beta on PS Portal for Plus Subscribers

Sony has announced the introduction of cloud gaming support on the PS Portal, accessible to PlayStation Plus subscribers in a beta format. This development allows users to engage with the Portal without the need for a constant PS5 connection. As revealed on the PlayStation blog, the beta feature enables streaming of over 120 PS5 games from the PS Plus catalog at resolutions of up to 1080p and 60fps. However, this service is currently restricted to PlayStation Plus Premium members and is only available in specific countries, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States. The cloud gaming feature is presently limited to PS5 titles and lacks certain functionalities such as game trials and personal game streaming. PlayStation has described this beta as an 'experimental offering,' indicating that features may evolve over time and may not accurately represent the final user experience. A specific timeline for the full implementation of cloud gaming on the PS Portal has not been disclosed. Initially launched a year ago, the PS Portal, a remote play device previously requiring a constant PS5 connection, saw rapid sales, selling out within two days of its release.
