Final Fantasy 14 Set to Debut on Mobile Devices

In a significant announcement, Square Enix revealed that Final Fantasy 14 is in the process of being adapted for mobile devices, courtesy of Lightspeed Studios. While a specific release date remains unconfirmed, it has been disclosed that the game will initially be made available to users in mainland China, prior to its worldwide launch. Upon its release, the mobile iteration of Final Fantasy 14 will feature nine duties from the original game, although the extent of additional content has yet to be clarified. "The past 11 years have been an extraordinary journey for Final Fantasy 14 since its rebirth," reflected game director Naoki Yoshida. "Our latest MMORPG, custom-designed for mobile, is being developed with unwavering passion and dedication by Lightspeed Studios. Despite necessary adjustments, the team is committed to faithfully recreating the game's narrative, duties, combat content, and other key elements." Notably, Lightspeed Studios is a subsidiary of Tencent and has been instrumental in the development of PUBG Mobile. Recently, the studio expanded its operations with the establishment of a new Japan-based studio, led by veteran Capcom developer Hideaki Itsuno. This new venture is focused on the creation of original, high-quality action games.
