Veteran Quantic Dream Writer Establishes Republic Games Studio
Adam Williams, formerly the lead writer at Quantic Dream, has launched a new game development studio called Republic Games, with financial support from Krafton. Under Williams' guidance, Republic Games has secured a significant investment from the prominent South Korean publisher, though the exact amount remains undisclosed. The studio, comprising a small yet highly experienced team of international developers, is dedicated to creating an untitled RPG. According to Williams, the mission of Republic Games is to craft engaging and impactful gaming experiences. He emphasized that their primary focus is on delivering what players truly desire: compelling gameplay, captivating narratives, memorable characters, and a fantasy world that leaves a lasting impression. Mike Hong, investment director at Krafton, noted that Republic Games is driven by a passion for elevating the art of interactive storytelling. The studio's core philosophy revolves around crafting exceptional stories, providing players with the freedom to make meaningful choices, and empowering them to forge their own paths in a rich fantasy universe. Williams' departure from Quantic Dream occurred earlier this year, where he was instrumental in writing notable titles such as Detroit: Become Human and the forthcoming Star Wars: Eclipse.
