Ubisoft Names New Chief People Officer

Ubisoft has announced the appointment of Sébastien Froidefond as its new chief people officer. Froidefond is set to assume his role in a week's time, on November 20, and will be responsible for spearheading Ubisoft's global people strategy, with a focus on delivering exceptional human resources practices throughout the company. He will report directly to Cécile Russeil, EVP of communications. With a broad range of expertise encompassing HR strategy, performance management, culture development, and employee engagement, Froidefond joins Ubisoft from his previous position as human resources lead for the Americas at Lactalis Americas. His extensive experience spans senior HR roles across various sectors, including the beauty, pharmaceutical, and life sciences industries. Froidefond succeeds Anika Grant, who departed the company in November 2023. In recent news, over 700 Ubisoft employees in France participated in a three-day strike last month, citing disputes over remote work arrangements and compensation. The strike was called in response to Ubisoft's return-to-office policy, which mandates a minimum of three days of in-office work per week. According to the French video game workers' union, STJV, this policy was the catalyst for the strike.
