Payload Studios Experiences Further Layoffs

Payload Studios, the developer behind TerraTech, has undergone another round of staff reductions. According to sources, this latest round has resulted in the loss of eight jobs, just three months after the studio cut its workforce by 25%. Those affected were reportedly given one month's notice without any redundancy pay. Russell Clarke, co-founder and CEO of Payload, acknowledged the layoffs but declined to provide further details. He stated that the decision was made due to a project that failed to materialize, putting the studio in a difficult position. Clarke emphasized that the situation is still evolving and that the studio aims to provide its staff with more information as soon as possible. It has also been reported that one of the studio's co-founders was impacted by the layoffs, although the identity of the affected founder has not been disclosed. This latest round of redundancies follows a previous cut in August, which was attributed to the challenges facing the wider industry. Payload Studios was founded in 2013 by Clarke and operations director Vincent Scheurer.
