Sega Reports 22% Increase in Game Revenue for First Half of FY25

Sega has released its financial results for the first half of FY25, ending September 30, 2024, with the entertainment segment performing well due to a significant increase in game sales. Key highlights include: Net sales of ¥211.6 billion ($1.39 billion), a 4.5% decline year-over-year, and Entertainment Contents net sales of ¥141.7 billion ($931 million), representing a 16.4% increase. The games segment saw a 22% year-over-year increase, driven by strong DLC sales and repeat sales, particularly with Unicorn Overlord. However, sales of new titles released during Q1 were slower than expected. The company expects full-year net sales to reach ¥445 billion ($3 billion), with the games segment projected to generate ¥235 billion ($1.5 billion) in revenue, driven by upcoming releases such as Metaphor: ReFantazio and Football Manager 25.
