Take-Two Interactive Sells Private Division to Focus on Blockbuster Titles

In a move to concentrate on high-profile projects, Take-Two Interactive has sold its Private Division label to an undisclosed buyer. The sale includes all live and unreleased titles under the label. This decision follows the shutdown of studios like Roll7 and Intercept Games, as well as staff layoffs earlier this summer. According to CEO Strauss Zelnick, the company is focusing on its core strengths in AAA and mobile gaming, where it can leverage its major intellectual properties to create big hits. Although Private Division successfully supported independent developers, the scale of its projects was smaller than what Take-Two aims to achieve. The company will continue to support select titles, including Moon Studios' No Rest for the Wicked. The buyer of Private Division is expected to be disclosed soon.
