Raffael Boccamazzo to Depart as Clinical Director of Take This
Raffael 'Dr. B' Boccamazzo, Clinical Director at Take This, has announced his decision to leave the mental health charity by the end of the year. This news was shared by Boccamazzo on LinkedIn and was accompanied by a detailed blog post from Take This, marking the end of his ten-year tenure at the non-profit organization, which focuses on supporting mental health within the gaming industry. In his statement, Boccamazzo expressed his pride in the work accomplished with the organization but highlighted the challenges of working in a non-profit environment, especially after becoming a father earlier in the year. He emphasized the need to prioritize his family, acknowledging that the demands of his role as a director at a small non-profit would compromise his ability to dedicate the necessary time to both his family and the organization. While it is unclear whether Boccamazzo will be replaced, his departure follows the recent announcement that Executive Director Eve Crevoshay has stepped down, with Community Director Kelli Dunlap taking over her role. Despite facing a budget shortfall that threatened its operations earlier in the year, Take This successfully raised nearly $100,000 to ensure its continuation.
