Radical Forge Secures £2.6m Investment

Radical Forge has successfully raised £2.6 million through the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II, specifically from NPIF II – Mercia Equity Finance. This significant investment will enable the Middlesbrough-based studio to broaden its team, currently comprising 70 employees, and undertake new projects, including the highly anticipated release of Southfield, slated for early 2025. Chris McCourt of Mercia Ventures noted, "Radical Forge boasts a talented team with a dynamic culture, facilitating the attraction and retention of skilled developers. We believe the current market presents substantial opportunities for the company. With major industry players downsizing, Radical Forge is poised to attract top talent, enhance its skill set, and secure larger, more complex projects. The NPIF II funding will empower the studio to execute its expansion strategy, further bolstering Middlesbrough's burgeoning games industry." Earlier this year, Radical Forge underwent a minor restructuring, resulting in the departure of six employees.
