Roblox Sees Significant Uptick in Bookings, Reaching $1.1 Billion in Q3

Roblox has unveiled its Q3 2024 financial results, showcasing a substantial surge in bookings, largely attributed to an "unprecedented" expansion in its console sector. Key highlights include: - A revenue of $919 million, marking a 29% year-over-year increase - Bookings totaling $1.1 billion, representing a 34% year-over-year growth - Net losses of $240 million, a decrease from $278 million in the same quarter last year The number of daily active users experienced a 27% year-over-year increase, reaching 88.9 million. Additionally, the hours engaged rose by 29% year-over-year to 20.7 billion. Roblox attributed its success to the "exceptional growth" in its console business, now fully operational on PlayStation, which accounted for 8% of total bookings for the quarter. The remaining 92% of bookings came from non-console platforms, including PC and mobile, which saw a 28% year-over-year increase. The company highlighted key initiatives, such as advancements in AI, its virtual economy, and marketplace, as well as improvements in app launch times, quality, and live operations, as contributing factors to its accelerated growth over the past two quarters.
