Fingersoft Reduces Workforce by 14 Employees
Finnish mobile game developer Fingersoft has undergone a restructuring, resulting in the loss of 14 jobs. According to a report by Pocket Gamer, CEO Jaakko Kylmäoja attributed the decision to a substantial decline in ad revenue. The layoffs affected various departments, including development, marketing, community management, and App Store optimization. "Regrettably, we were forced to conclude change negotiations with the tough decision to let go of 14 employees," Kylmäoja stated. "These cutbacks were not specific to any particular project, but rather a company-wide adjustment. Given the significant decline in ad revenue this year, it was necessary to make adjustments to our cost structure to maintain our competitive edge and ensure the company's long-term viability." Founded in 2012 by Toni Fingerroos, Fingersoft released its first game, Hill Climb Racing, the same year. A spin-off titled Lego Hill Climb Adventures was launched in May 2024.
