Netflix Renews Animated Tomb Raider Series for Season 2
The animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft has been picked up for a second season by Netflix and Legendary Television. Tasha Huo will resume her role as showrunner, writer, and executive producer, with Hayley Atwell reprising her voice role as the iconic Lara Croft. Dmitri M. Johnson and Howard Bliss of DJ2 Entertainment, along with Jacob Robinson, president of Tractor Pants, will also return as executive producers. New additions to the executive producer team include Timothy I. Stevenson from DJ2 Entertainment, Dallas Dickinson and Noah Hughes from Crystal Dynamics, and Jen Chambers from Amazon Studios. According to Huo, the first season explores Lara's journey in coping with grief, much like her father. The second season will focus on building a team around Lara, transforming her from a lone hero to a leader with a strong support system. The partnership between Netflix and Legendary to produce the series was announced in 2021, with the first season premiering on October 10, 2024.
