Twitch Sees a Surge in Monthly Viewing Hours in September

According to a recent report, Twitch experienced a significant increase in monthly viewing hours in September, reaching 1.653 billion hours. This marks a notable recovery from the 1.568 billion hours watched in June 2024. Although the platform still hasn't reached the 1.902 billion hours watched in January, the data compiled by Rainmaker.gg for StreamElements' State of the Stream summary indicates a steady rebound from a mid-year decline. Additionally, daily viewing hours have seen a substantial increase, rising from 45 million to 55 million, which is the highest since April. The report also highlights that EA Sports PC 25 has become the second game of 2024 to break into the top 10 most-viewed games on Twitch, following Palworld's success in January. Furthermore, Dota 2 had a remarkable month with a 78% increase in viewership, largely due to The International competitive championship. Or Perry, CEO of StreamElements, notes that September was marked by two significant events on Twitch: an increase in daily viewing hours and a shift in the top streamer rankings. The simultaneous subathons hosted by FaZe Clan members, which lasted over 695 hours, propelled four creators into the top 10 for the first time, with Stableronaldo taking the top spot. This surge also led to a peak of 20% in the share of viewing hours among the top 100 streamers, up from the usual 17%. The collaborative streaming efforts among FaZeClan members have bolstered the use of features like Stream Together, streamlining the process of joint streaming.
