Record-Breaking Launch: EA Sports FC 25 Tops US Sales Charts

EA Sports FC 25 has achieved the highest launch month sales of any soccer game to date, debuting at number one on Circana's US charts for September. The game saw a significant increase in sales compared to its predecessor, EA Sports FC 24, with double-digit percentage growth. It topped the charts for both PlayStation and Xbox platforms. PlayStation-exclusive Astro Bot took the second spot and debuted as the 25th best-selling game of the year. The top five was rounded out by Madden NFL 25, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and EA Sports College Football 25. September saw five new entries in the top ten, including NBA 2k25 and NHL 25. In the top 20, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics and Space Marine 2: Warhammer 40,000 made their debuts. On the mobile front, Supercell's Brawl Stars experienced a 64% increase in US spending following a collaboration with Spongebob Squarepants. Last War: Survival's downloads grew by 42% month over month, reaching a new daily high. However, US consumer spending declined by 6% to $4.3 billion in September, driven by a 44% drop in hardware spending. Year-to-date consumer spending is 30% lower than the previous year, with content spending up 3% and hardware spending down 30%.
