Malaysia is pouring $4.64 million into its esports sector as part of a broader $53.3 million sports development initiative outlined in the Malaysia Madani Budget 2025. This significant allocation underscores the government's commitment to bolstering the country's esports capabilities. The funds will be utilized to bolster talent development programs, enhance coaching, and upgrade existing infrastructure. Additionally, a portion of the investment will go towards establishing a state-of-the-art national esports center, designed to host both domestic and international competitions, complete with its own production facilities. This move follows the country's successful hosting of the PUBG Global Series 1 and precedes its upcoming role as the host of the PUBG Global Championship, further cementing Malaysia's position in the global esports landscape.
