Hi-Rez Studios to Discontinue Realm Royale Reforged and Divine Knockout
Hi-Rez Studios has revealed plans to discontinue two of its online multiplayer titles, Realm Royale Reforged and Divine Knockout, effective February 17, 2025. The decision was disclosed through similar statements on each game's Steam page, attributed to their respective developers, Evil Mojo Games and Red Beard Games. Both statements cited the recent corporate restructuring as the primary reason for the shutdowns, which were preceded by an unspecified number of layoffs earlier this month. Following the closure, the games will be delisted from digital stores, and players will no longer be able to purchase the games or associated content. Although the titles transitioned to a free-to-play model a couple of months ago, players can continue to play until the shutdown. The reorganisation, announced by Hi-Rez CEO Stewart Chisam, aimed to ensure the company's long-term viability, focusing on SMITE 2's sustainable future, and followed a thorough review of the company's strategy and operations.
