Ubisoft Milan Supports Ubisoft France Strike Against Mandatory Office Return

In a show of solidarity with Ubisoft France, Ubisoft Milan has announced a one-day strike. The Milan branch of Fiom Cgil union has voiced concerns regarding the company's return to office mandate, citing it as a significant burden on employees. According to Fiom Cgil representative Andrea Rosafalco, "requiring a young person to commute to Milan three days a week is unrealistic and would disrupt their entire life." This sentiment is echoed by the union, which believes the policy is neither economically sustainable nor humane. As a result, several Ubisoft Milan employees are reportedly planning to leave the studio, with some allegedly joining Day 4 Night, a new studio founded by former creative director Davide Soliani. The situation follows a recent three-day strike by over 700 Ubisoft France employees, who protested against the mandatory office return policy. The French game workers union, STJV, warned that this policy could lead to job losses, project disruptions, and increased psychological risks for remaining staff. Ubisoft has been approached for further comment on the matter.
