Veteran Assassin's Creed Director Takes Helm of FunPlus' New Studio in Portugal

FunPlus has established a new development studio, Studio Ellipsis, in Lisbon, Portugal, under the leadership of Alexandre Amancio, formerly a director on the Assassin's Creed series. The studio aims to craft innovative, immersive IPs and expand existing ones through multimedia experiences, including comics, television shows, and films, by leveraging cross-platform game development and transmedia storytelling. According to Amancio, the entertainment landscape is evolving, with audiences now seeking active, immersive experiences across various platforms. In response, Studio Ellipsis seeks to provide fans with deeper, more engaging experiences, while also developing original IPs that inspire and empower fans to become an integral part of the narrative. FunPlus chose Lisbon as the studio's base due to its growing reputation as a creative and technological hub, with plans to create more than 50 jobs over the next three years.
