Veterans of Edge Magazine Introduce New Gaming Publication, On
A pair of former Edge magazine staff members have unveiled On, a fresh video game publication centered around in-depth, high-quality journalism. Led by creative director Andrew P. Hind, a 20-year veteran of Edge as its art editor, and editor-in-chief Nathan Brown, formerly the editor of the esteemed UK magazine, the project promises to deliver engaging, long-form content. The first issue is now available in the UK through Hybrid Publications, a company founded by Hind, with plans for international distribution soon. Each issue of On will boast an array of in-depth articles penned by renowned writers, including, in the debut issue, Jen Simpkins and Margaret Robinson, also ex-Edge editors, Keith Stuart and Keza MacDonald of The Guardian, Christian Donlan, formerly of Eurogamer, and Yussef Cole from Wired. The launch of On comes at a time when the gaming media landscape is undergoing significant changes, marked by the recent closures of long-standing publications such as Game Informer and Play, highlighting the challenges faced by video game journalism and the media industry at large.
