King Expands Presence in Germany with New Office Launch

King has inaugurated a new office in Berlin, marking a significant expansion of its presence in the city. Since establishing a base in Berlin in 2014, the company has now relocated to a more prominent location on the banks of the river Spree. According to CTO Eric Bowman, the new German office will oversee multiple projects, embracing a more flexible approach to team management. "Unlike in the past when specific game development teams were tied to certain offices, we now have game teams spread across all our locations," Bowman explained in an interview with mobilegamer.biz. This shift enables King's talent to work from a location that suits them best, including the Berlin office. With a global workforce of approximately 2000 employees across the UK, Sweden, Spain, Germany, and the US, Bowman highlighted the significance of the Berlin office in driving key projects such as On Fire and Daily Bonus in Candy Crush Saga, as well as its involvement in major initiatives like All Stars. "The Berlin team has been instrumental in several high-profile projects, which are essential to King's business," Bowman noted. He also expressed pride in being part of the German gaming industry, citing the region's exceptional talent pool as a primary reason for establishing a presence in Berlin. The new office aims to provide a collaborative and inspiring workspace for King's employees in the area.
