Sony Issues Apology for Allowing Unclassified Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number in Australia

Sony has extended an apology to Australian gamers for permitting access to Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number on PlayStation platforms, despite the game's denial of classification in 2015. The title, which was previously unavailable due to its depiction of sexual violence, had been accessible via PlayStation Plus Extra and the Hotline Miami Collection for the past year. In a customer email, Sony expressed awareness of the issue, stating that the game lacked proper rating from the Australian Classification Board, and as a result, the company has taken measures to refund customers who purchased the game. The refund, equivalent to the total purchase price, will be credited back to the original payment method within 30-60 days. Alternatively, if the original payment source is no longer available, the refund will be applied to the customer's PlayStation Network wallet. Sony apologized for any inconvenience this may have caused. Furthermore, the company notified players who accessed the game through the PlayStation Plus library that it has taken steps to remove the product from their libraries. In response to a request for comment, publisher Devolver Digital shared an in-game screenshot with the phrase 'Good times never last.'
