September UK Gaming Charts: EA Sports FC 25 and Space Marine 2 Lead the Pack
The UK gaming market experienced an 8% increase in sales, with 3.88 million PC and console games sold in September, according to data from GSD. This growth is largely attributed to the introduction of six new titles in the top ten. EA Sports FC 25 took the top spot, although its launch sales were 4.6% lower than the previous year's title. However, the premium early access edition performed better year-over-year. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 secured the second position, becoming the third best-selling new game of the year. The Crew 2, discounted to under £1, saw a huge sales boost, while Star Wars Outlaws had a disappointing start, tracking slightly behind Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Astro Bot from PlayStation had a strong start, with sales up 24% compared to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Other new releases, such as NBA 2K25 and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, also made the top ten. In terms of console sales, the PS5 was the top-selling console, followed by the Xbox Series S and X, and the Nintendo Switch. The PS5 All-Digital console had its second-best month, and console sales for the year are down 32% compared to 2023. Accessory sales saw an 11% increase, with the Midnight Black DualSense controller taking the top spot, and the DualSense Astro Bot limited edition controller making its debut at number ten.
