Acclaimed Game Developers Unite to Form Day 4 Night Studio
Veterans from the Mario + Rabbids series and the lead designer of Red Dead Redemption have collaborated to establish a new game development studio, Day 4 Night, which has secured its first round of funding from prominent investors Krafton and 1Up Ventures. The studio is helmed by Christian Cantamessa, known for his work on Red Dead Redemption, Shadow of Mordor, and Perfect Dark, and Davide Soliani, who has contributed to the Mario + Rabbids series and Just Dance. Their inaugural project is centered around a brand-new intellectual property. The team comprises Cristina Nava, Gian Marco Zanna, and Luca Breda, all of whom have a background in working on the Mario + Rabbids series at Ubisoft Milan, as well as other notable titles such as Just Dance, Ghost Recon, and Star Wars Outlaws. Cantamessa reflected on the formation of Day 4 Night, stating, 'My passion for video games was ignited by their ability to tell unprecedented stories and create transformative worlds.' He views Day 4 Night as a return to the innovative and creative spirit that defined the early days of his career. Soliani shared his vision for the studio, saying, 'At Day 4 Night, we're crafting an experience that embodies everything I've ever desired as a player - a mix of joy, adventure, poetry, action, wonder, and the pleasure of collaboration with friends.' The studio will operate from offices in Los Angeles, California, and Milan. Maria Park, Krafton's head of corporate development, praised Day 4 Night's pitch, highlighting its engaging narrative and creative vision. Ed Fries of 1Up Ventures also expressed enthusiasm for the project, describing it as one of the most original and creative ideas he has encountered in a long time.
