Antstream Arcade, a leading platform for streaming retro games, has become the latest victim of industry-wide layoffs. The news broke after the company's PR and communications manager, Diane Hutchinson, and UI designer, Robyn Jamieson, posted updates on their LinkedIn profiles indicating they had been let go and were seeking new opportunities. Upon inquiry, Antstream provided a statement to GamesIndustry.biz, revealing that the layoffs were confined to a limited number of positions. The statement read: "The gaming industry is currently navigating a particularly tough period. As a result of an internal shift in focus, we have made the tough decision to eliminate a small number of roles within the Antstream Arcade team. This decision was not taken lightly, and we are committed to supporting those affected throughout this transition. Our dedication to providing the best experience for our players remains unwavering." Founded in 2013, Antstream launched its streaming service in 2019 and has since expanded to multiple platforms, including Xbox and PlayStation, in recent years.
