Former Awesomenauts Developers Reboot Unfinished Game with New Studio Rangatang

Following the bankruptcy of Ronimo Games, the studio behind the indie hit Awesomenauts, four former team members have launched a new studio called Rangatang. The new studio is currently working on completing Nubs, a game that Ronimo never had the chance to finish. According to co-founder Olivier Thijssen, Ronimo's bankruptcy was caused by the unexpected cancellation of a publishing deal. The team had been working on Nubs, but the loss of funding forced them to abandon the project. Thijssen and his team attempted to secure new funding, but were unsuccessful. The team eventually made a bid for the Nubs IP and began working on the game again, but this time with a much smaller team and a more focused approach. Rangatang has since partnered with Glowfish Interactive, a Belgian development studio, to help bring Nubs to completion. The two studios are working together to adapt the game to a smaller scale, while still maintaining its core elements. Emiel De Paepe, co-founder of Glowfish Interactive, notes that his studio's experience with Unity will be invaluable in helping to complete Nubs. The game is being designed to be more accessible, while still maintaining a competitive edge. Thijssen hopes to apply the lessons learned from Awesomenauts to Nubs, creating a game that is both fun and competitive.
