Xbox Research Collaborates with Game Developers to Enhance Tools and Services

The Xbox Research division has broadened its scope to encompass collaboration with developers and partnership with product teams, with the goal of providing actionable data insights to refine its offerings. By doing so, the company aims to gather data that can help alleviate challenges and elevate the overall experience for partners across various disciplines involved in game development and release. For over twenty years, Microsoft's research arm has been conducting studies to enhance gaming experiences, leveraging feedback from players. The data collection methodologies will be similar to those employed in previous player-focused studies, and will be accessible to all developers, regardless of whether their games are released on Xbox. According to principal user researcher Deborah Hendersen, "We're eager to hear from anyone involved in game development or supporting game studios, as making their work easier ultimately benefits the gaming community." "Whether you're developing video games or not, we're interested in your perspective. If you're not releasing games on Xbox, we'd like to understand why. Even if you're using competing products, your insight could be invaluable to us."
