Poncle, Developer of Vampire Survivor, Establishes Publishing Division
Poncle, the studio behind Vampire Survivor, has announced the launch of its publishing division. During a presentation at Game Republic's Pitching to Investors and Publishers event in Liverpool, the team emphasized their intention to operate differently from traditional publishers, instead acting as a supportive label or fund to empower game developers. The publishing arm will provide financial backing, platform support, localization services, QA, release management, and development guidance for games characterized by their sincerity, passion, and depth. Additionally, marketing support will be offered to help independent developers release engaging, affordable, and enjoyable games with high replay value. The team expressed their enthusiasm for signing new projects but acknowledged their current limitations. They also outlined specific genres and concepts they are not interested in, including 'Survivor-like' games, AI or Web3-related projects, and free-to-play mobile games. In related news, Vampire Survivors is set to be adapted into an animated TV series, with Poncle collaborating with entertainment firm Story Kitchen, which is backed by notable industry figures such as Dmitri Johnson, Derek Kolstad, and Mike Goldberg.
