October 15 Marks the Release Date for Meta Quest 3S
Meta has officially announced that its latest Meta Quest 3S device will be available starting October 15. The device will come in two storage options: a 128GB version priced at $300 and a 512GB version at $400. Key features of the new hardware include enhanced battery life and performance capabilities on par with its predecessors. The purchase price also includes Quest-exclusive Batman: Arkham Shadow. According to Meta, the Meta Quest 3S offers a mixed reality experience similar to Quest 3, with a significant increase in resolution and color compared to Quest 2, thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset. This results in sharper visuals, faster load times, and smoother performance. As part of its product lineup adjustments, Meta is discontinuing Quest 2, Quest Pro, and the 128GB version of Quest 3. Additionally, the company has reduced the price of Quest 3 by $150, now available for $500. Earlier this year, Meta introduced changes to its virtual reality business, aiming to create a more open ecosystem for both developers and users. This included making the Meta Horizon OS, which powers Meta Quest headsets, available to other companies for the development of third-party hardware.
