Mountaintop Studios Announces Staff Reduction of 13 Employees

Mountaintop Studios has made a strategic decision to downsize its workforce by 13 positions. The studio behind Spectre Divide stated that this move is essential to ensure the game and its community receive adequate support in the long run. Having launched Spectre Divide as a free-to-play title just a few weeks ago on September 3, the game currently holds a mixed user review score on Steam. In a statement, Nate Mitchell, CEO and co-founder, expressed: "To guarantee long-term support for Spectre and its community, we had to make the tough decision to eliminate 13 full-time positions at the studio. We are deeply grateful to these team members for their tireless efforts and commitment to Spectre over the years." This year, the gaming industry has seen approximately 12,700 job losses, excluding significant cuts in games media outlets such as Gamurs and Game Informer.
