Nerd Street Gamers has successfully raised $6 million in its recent funding round. According to a report by Esports Insider, the majority of the investment, totaling $5 million, was provided by Konvoy Ventures, a capital firm. The remaining $1 million was contributed by strategic investors. The funds raised will be used to drive the growth of Localhost, the company's chain of LAN gaming centers, which currently operates multiple venues across the United States. As part of its expansion plans, Nerd Street Gamers aims to establish new locations on college campuses, including partnerships with Temple University to launch an esports program and Maryville University to host a summer camp for young gamers. John Fazio, founder and CEO of Nerd Street Gamers, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership with Konvoy Ventures, citing their experience, network, and passion for the industry as key factors. He emphasized that together, they will work towards creating something that benefits the entire esports industry. In other news, it was reported by Digiday that Nerd Street Gamers had taken out a loan from Riot Games last year due to financial difficulties, which has since been fully repaid.
