Playtika Completes $700 Million Acquisition of SuperPlay

In a major move, Playtika has acquired mobile game development studio SuperPlay for a substantial $700 million. An additional payment of up to $1.25 billion is contingent upon SuperPlay meeting specific financial targets over the next three years, which will be funded through Playtika's operational cash flow and existing balance sheet. This strategic acquisition is projected to have a profound impact on Playtika's proforma growth, bolstered by SuperPlay's popular titles Dice Dreams and Domino Dreams, as well as two upcoming games currently in development. Founded by industry veterans Gilad Almog, Eyal Netzer, and Elad Drory, with Almog and Netzer previously part of the Playtika team, SuperPlay will operate as an independent studio within Playtika under their continued leadership. According to Playtika CEO Robert Antokol, the acquisition marks a significant step in reinforcing the company's position in the mobile gaming sector, driving growth through scaled titles, and exploring new opportunities. Antokol emphasized the alignment of SuperPlay's talent and success with Playtika's vision, highlighting the potential for delivering exceptional gaming experiences worldwide. Almog and Netzer expressed their excitement, attributing the success to their team's creativity and passion, and looking forward to leveraging Playtika's support to create more memorable games and exchange knowledge for mutual growth. This acquisition is part of Playtika's broader strategy, announced earlier in the year, to invest $1.2 billion in mergers and acquisitions over the next three years.
