Closure of Midwinter Studio Following Cancellation of Project T

September 18, 2024 Update: Behaviour Interactive has acknowledged the closure of its Midwinter studio, stating that the decision was based on a thorough commercial and product risk assessment, which yielded disappointing results. The company emphasized that this outcome does not reflect the talent and dedication of the team that worked on Project T. In a statement to GamesIndustry.biz, Behaviour Interactive expressed gratitude to the employees and offered relocation opportunities to their Canadian studios or a generous severance package to those who choose not to relocate. The initial announcement of Project T's cancellation was made by Behaviour Interactive, citing unsatisfactory results from a thorough internal risk assessment and playtest analysis. Following this news, several Midwinter employees took to social media to confirm their layoffs due to the studio's closure. Behaviour Interactive acquired Midwinter in May 2022 from Improbable, a cloud technology firm.
