TouchArcade Ceases Operations

After a 16-year run, TouchArcade is closing its doors due to insufficient financial backing. Editor-in-Chief Jared Nelson broke the news on the website, attributing the shutdown to a prolonged struggle to secure adequate funding. Nelson reflected on the outlet's history, stating that despite the challenges, it is remarkable the site endured as long as it did. The reality, he explained, is that websites like TouchArcade are no longer economically viable, as they have opted against resorting to intrusive advertising, sensationalized headlines, or dubious sponsorships that still generate revenue online. Existing content will remain accessible for the time being. The team plans to continue producing The TouchArcade Show podcast, supported by Patreon donations, which have been instrumental in keeping the site operational since 2015.
