Saber Interactive Receives Funding from Investors to Settle Embracer Debt
Saber Interactive has obtained investments from two prominent private equity firms, Aleph Capital Partners and Crestview Partners, to aid in settling its debt obligations to Embracer. The firms have made a substantial, albeit undisclosed, equity investment to support Saber's expansion plans and mergers and acquisitions activities. As a result of this transaction, Jamie Rahamim, Managing Director and Head of Media at Aleph, and Brian Cassidy, President and Head of Media at Crestview, will join Saber's Board of Directors. According to Saber CEO Matthew Karch, this investment is a testament to the company's existing achievements and future potential as a leading game content creator. Karch expressed confidence in the partnership, citing the importance of having the right investors. Saber was previously acquired by Embracer Group in 2020 for $525 million. Following Embracer's announcement of a restructuring program after a failed $2 billion deal with Savvy Games Group, Saber repurchased itself from Embracer in a deal valued up to $500 million earlier this year.
