Nexon Acquires Mintrocket, Developer of Dave the Diver, as a Wholly Owned Subsidiary

Nexon has officially made Mintrocket, the development team behind Dave the Diver, a wholly owned subsidiary. According to Nexon, this move is set to bolster Mintrocket's brand and standing in the industry, particularly in terms of its capacity for rapid development of innovative games. Jaeho Hwang, a key figure at Mintrocket, has been appointed as the subsidiary's first CEO. The restructure is intended to highlight Mintrocket's unique approach to creating engaging, small-scale games for a global market, complementing Nexon's established expertise in large-scale game development. Mintrocket's inaugural title, Dave the Diver, achieved significant success, surpassing four million sales and earning a BAFTA Award, along with a highly positive reception on Steam. Following the release of its 2023 fiscal year earnings report in February, which showed a record-breaking revenue increase of 19.7% year-over-year, Nexon continues to expand its portfolio through strategic acquisitions, new title releases, and updates to existing games.
