Mother Games Secures $5 Million in Pre-Seed Funding for Debut Title

Emerging game studio Mother Games has officially launched, revealing a successful $5 million pre-seed funding round. Investors BoxGroup, Shine, and Lerer Hippeau Ventures contributed to the round, which will support the development of Mother Games' first title, Le Zoo, and future projects. Founded in August 2023 by Kelsey Falter and Raissa Chagas, Mother Games is a New York-based studio focused on crafting immersive experiences that encourage players to explore their mental programming and inner worlds. The company's founding team boasts talent from renowned game development studios such as Rockstar and Ubisoft. Mother Games' debut project, Le Zoo, is an innovative 3D open-world game where players can explore a multi-tiered, surreal theme park. Scheduled for a mobile release, Le Zoo aims to diverge from traditional mobile games by prioritizing the serotonin cycle to foster awareness and perception, rather than relying on the dopamine system to drive player engagement. According to Falter, CEO of Mother Games, the studio's mission is to empower players to break free from unconscious patterns and rediscover themselves through play. Falter noted, 'We're introducing Mother Games and Le Zoo as a means to unlock the mind's potential and have fun while doing it.' Chagas added, 'Le Zoo is not just a game – it's a reflective tool that helps players see their world from a fresh perspective, blurring the lines between the game and reality.'
