Roblox Expands Revenue Sharing to 70% for Developers with New Premium Game Offerings

Roblox is set to unveil premium games on its platform, offering developers a significant revenue share of up to 70%. This announcement was made by CEO and co-founder David Baszucki at the 10th annual Roblox Developers Conference in San Francisco, where he revealed that developers will retain 50% to 70% of the revenue generated from their titles when players make purchases using real-world currency. Currently, developers receive around 30% of the revenue from in-game purchases. The premium titles are slated to launch on PC later this year, with plans to expand to other devices in the future. Baszucki also expressed his vision for Roblox to reach one billion daily active users and to account for 10% of all global gaming content revenue, aiming for $1 out of every $10 spent on gaming to be spent within the Roblox ecosystem. As of June 30, 2024, Roblox boasts 79.5 million daily active users worldwide, with 58% of them being 13 years or older, marking a 26% growth in this age group during the second quarter of the fiscal year.
