Bungie Wins Appeal Against AimJunkies, New Trial Denied

The US courts have ruled in favor of Bungie, confirming the denial of a new trial for AimJunkies. According to a report by TorrentFreak, US District Judge Thomas Zilly stated that Bungie provided sufficient evidence of copyright infringement by AimJunkies. The judge noted that Bungie only needed to establish that the cheat software distributed by the defendants had copied protected aspects of Destiny 2, which was proven through both direct and circumstantial evidence presented at trial. Additionally, the Ninth Circuit Court denied AimJunkies' arbitration appeal, upholding the $4.3 million award in damages and fees granted to Bungie. This ruling follows a long-standing legal battle between Bungie and AimJunkies that began in 2021, with Bungie emerging victorious in an arbitration in February 2023 and a subsequent trial earlier this year, where they were awarded an additional $63,210 in damages.
