Toadman Interactive to Close Scandinavian Offices and Reduce Berlin Staff
Toadman Interactive, a game development studio known for its work on titles such as Helldivers 2 and Immortal Unchained, has announced the closure of its offices in Stockholm, Visby, and Oslo. Additionally, the company's Berlin office will undergo restructuring, resulting in an unspecified number of redundancies. In a statement, the studio cited a challenging 12-month period, similar to those faced by other game companies, as the reason for this decision. The company has expressed its desire to facilitate introductions between its talented staff and potential employers in the gaming industry. With 111 employees as of June 2024, the full extent of the job losses remains unclear. This development follows the underwhelming reception of Toadman's original game, EvilVEvil, which was released in July to disappointing sales and reception. Meanwhile, another game development studio, Ballistic Moon, has also recently announced staff layoffs.
