Nintendo of Europe Undergoes Leadership Transition Amid Continental Restructuring

Following the completion of its extensive reorganisation efforts, Nintendo of Europe has unveiled its newly formed leadership team, with Luciano Pereña at the helm as president, CEO, and chairman. Pereña succeeds Stephen Bole, who is retiring after 35 years of service, having led the company for six years. Bole initially took on the role of COO and president in 2018, when Satoru Shibata returned to Nintendo's Japanese headquarters, and Pereña was concurrently promoted to CFO. This leadership shift occurs in tandem with the consolidation of Nintendo's European subsidiaries into a unified entity, Nintendo of Europe SE, with all local branches remaining operational under the centralised Frankfurt headquarters. As part of this transition, additional key appointments have been made, including Laurent Fischer as COO, previously the chief marketing officer since 2018, and Tom Enoki as senior managing director for corporate planning, who joined the senior management team in 2022. The reorganisation has been finalised ahead of the anticipated release of the Switch's successor, which is expected to be announced before April 1, 2025.
