Asmodee Appoints Thomas Koegler as New Chief Executive Officer

The Embracer Group has announced the appointment of Thomas Koegler as the new CEO of Asmodee. Koegler, who joined the French board game publisher in 2015, previously held the position of deputy COO. In addition to his new role, he will also be joining Embracer's executive management team, replacing Stéphane Carville. Embracer CEO and co-founder Lars Wingefors expressed his confidence in Koegler's ability to lead Asmodee, citing his unique blend of experience and fresh perspective. Wingefors stated, "Thomas brings together the legacy of Asmodee with a new generation's vision for its future, and I am confident he will guide the company through its next phase with a focus on growth and profitability." Embracer acquired Asmodee in December 2021 for €2.75 billion. Recently, Embracer announced plans to split into three separate entities, with Asmodee set to become its own entity within the next year. A new board of directors has been established for Asmodee Group AB, with Wingefors as chair and Kicki Wallje-Lund as deputy chair. The board includes former Asmodee CEO Stéphane Carville, founder and former COO Marc Nunes, Embracer board member Jacob Jonmyren, and COO and CFO of Pophouse Entertainment Group Linda Höljö. Asmodee Group AB will be headquartered in Karlstad, Sweden, while Asmodee's operational headquarters will remain in Paris, France.
