According to a recent report by Bloomberg, NetEase Games is planning to shut down Ouka Studios. Sources close to the matter revealed that the studio has undergone significant staff reductions, with only a few employees remaining to oversee the release of its final projects. This news comes after the studio's recent release of Visions of Mana, a game published by Square Enix. Reporter Takashi Mochizuki noted on social media that NetEase has been reducing its workforce since spring. In response to the report, NetEase stated that it had no official announcement regarding the closure, emphasizing its commitment to providing quality gaming experiences and adapting to market conditions. The company established Ouka Studios in 2020, focusing on the development of console games.
