Foamstars Makes the Switch to Free-to-Play
In a recent announcement, Square Enix revealed that its team-based shooter, Foamstars, will be transitioning to a free-to-play model. As outlined on the company's support website, this change will take effect on October 4, 2024, marking a shift away from the game's current pricing structure. From this date forward, players will not need an active PlayStation Plus subscription to access the game. As a gesture of appreciation, individuals who purchased Foamstars prior to this change will be eligible to receive an exclusive in-game bundle, with additional details to be shared at a later time. This update comes on the heels of Square Enix's Q1 financial report, which saw the company's profits rise by 68% to $72 million, despite an 18.4% decline in net sales to $477 million.
