Scottish Games Week Takes a Break in 2024
The organizers of Scottish Games Week have decided to put the event on hold for 2024. According to the statement, the cancellation of this year's event is due to the current instability in the video game industry and the ongoing political changes. However, the event is set to return in October 2025 with a more comprehensive and diverse lineup of activities that cater to the entire video game ecosystem. Brian Baglow, the founder and director of Scottish Games Week, explained that the ongoing disruptions in the industry and the delays in funding have significantly impacted the event. Instead of compromising the event's quality, the organizers have chosen to postpone it until 2025, when they can deliver a better and more creative experience. The organizers are currently seeking partners, sponsors, and advisors for the 2025 event. With more than a year to plan, the organizers are open to collaborations with various partners, as stated by Baglow.
