Archiact VR Studio Announces Closure
The Canadian VR studio Archiact has announced its closure in a LinkedIn statement, informing all staff that operations will cease in two weeks. Established in 2013, Archiact positioned itself as a trailblazer in the VR space, focusing on the development of immersive reality games such as Doom 3: VR Edition and Marvel Dimension of Heroes. Throughout its 11-year run, the studio successfully published 35 games and formed partnerships with key industry players, continually pushing the boundaries of VR and mixed reality. In a heartfelt statement, the studio reflected on its journey, expressing gratitude to the hundreds of talented developers who called Archiact home and to the players who engaged with their games. The studio's closure comes after a round of layoffs in January, which had listed the company size as between 51 and 200 employees at the time.
