Keywords Studios Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of Wushu Studios

Keywords Studios has finalized the acquisition of Wushu Studios, a Liverpool-based game development studio, in a deal whose financial details have not been disclosed. Founded by Alan McDermott in 2017, Wushu Studios specializes in providing work-for-hire services, as well as porting, remastering, and live support services to game publishers and developers. The studio's portfolio includes notable titles such as Baldur's Gate 3, Fall Guys, Forza Horizon 5, The Ascent, and State of Decay 2. According to Bertrand Bodson, CEO of Keywords, the acquisition is part of the company's broader strategy to expand its global game development offerings. With Wushu Studios on board, Keywords now boasts two studios in Liverpool, a city recognized as a key talent hub in the UK. Bodson highlighted that Wushu's skilled team, robust industry relationships, and growth opportunities will significantly enhance Keywords' Create studios, allowing the company to better serve its global client base. Alan McDermott expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating that joining Keywords will enable Wushu to maintain its independence while leveraging the parent company's extensive resources and expertise.
