Take-Two Reports Moderate Q1 Growth Amidst Ambitious Development Plans

Take-Two has announced its financial results for the first fiscal quarter of 2025, revealing a modest increase in bookings and revenue, despite deeper losses. Key figures include: $1.34 billion in net revenue, a 4% year-over-year increase; a net loss of $262 million, compared to $206 million in the previous year; and $1.22 billion in total net bookings, representing a 1% year-over-year growth. The company highlights its focus on upcoming releases, including Grand Theft Auto 6 and 24 games slated for release over the next two fiscal years. This lineup comprises 15 immersive core titles, one independent game, five mobile releases, and three revamped versions of existing games. Take-Two has reaffirmed its full-year bookings guidance of $5.55 to $5.65 billion, while anticipating increased GAAP losses. CEO Strauss Zelnick expects sequential growth in fiscal years 2026 and 2027. The company saw 83% of its revenue come from recurrent consumer spending, with digital sales accounting for 97% of overall bookings. Top-performing titles include NBA 2K24, Grand Theft Auto Online, and Red Dead Redemption 2. Notably, Red Dead Redemption 2 has now shipped over 65 million units, while NBA 2K24 has shipped nearly 11 million units, slightly below last year's figure.
