Unveiling the Vision Behind My Games' Knights Peak Publishing Label
In a recent development, My Games introduced its new publishing arm, Knights Peak Interactive, led by vice president of publishing Eugenio Vitale, alongside global brand and marketing director Mario Gerhold and creative director Jan-Eric Lauble. This venture is centered on delivering premium gaming experiences for PC and console platforms. With five projects already under its belt, Knights Peak aims to release three titles this year. We had the opportunity to discuss My Games' decision to establish Knights Peak with Vitale, who revealed that the label represents a new dimension in the company's business, focusing on publishing high-quality titles from external studios. "By combining the expertise of Knights Peak with our team, we can offer a comprehensive package to developers and platform holders, as well as a distinct message to players and the media," Vitale explained. Vitale pointed out that My Games had limited experience in handling premium titles, but the shift in the PC and console industry from free-to-play to buy-to-play models prompted the company to explore this new market through Knights Peak. "When I joined My Games in March 2023, the team presented me with the chance to diversify the business and lead the new premium division," he said. "We've assembled a strong team of experts, including Mario Gerhold and Jan-Eric Lauble, dedicated to supporting both established and emerging studios in reaching new heights in global markets and brand development." One of the core principles guiding Knights Peak is embracing flexibility by exploring different publishing and co-publishing models across various formats and territories. "Our goal is to ensure that our partners and their projects receive the attention they deserve," Vitale noted, adding that the publisher aims to provide a platform for established teams to "push the boundaries" of their respective genres. The launch catalogue of Knights Peak features five games, with additional titles in development. The console edition of Offworld Industries' Starship Troopers marked the label's first release, followed by VEA Games' Nikoderiko: The Magical World, Primal Game Studio's Mandragora, Owlcat Games' Pathfinder: Kingmaker, and My Games' Blast Brigade. Vitale revealed that Knights Peak is targeting a release slate of four to five games in 2025, followed by five to six titles in 2026. When evaluating potential developer partnerships, Vitale emphasized that Knights Peak considers three core principles: games with a "distinct personality," a "sense of familiarity," and high quality. "We strive for every game to introduce fresh ideas within its genre, blending innovation with elements that resonate with players," he said. "Ultimately, we want developers to be proud of their creations, which in turn means players will often enjoy the project." Looking ahead, Vitale stated that Knights Peak's primary focus is on launching its pipeline titles and continuing to support its developers. "We're excited about forming strong connections with players and are also focused on future growth and long-term development," he concluded.
