Amber Expands Global Reach with Acquisition of Madbricks
In a strategic move, Amber has acquired Madbricks, a Colombian game development studio, for an undisclosed amount. Madbricks, which specializes in co-development, has previously collaborated with Amber and has also worked on projects with notable companies such as Voodoo, ByteDance, and Maximum Games. With a team of approximately 40 employees based in Bogotá, this acquisition aligns with Amber's global expansion strategy. According to the announcement, this move is part of Amber's plan to integrate external studios into its network. Amber's CEO, Mihai Pohonțu, expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating: "Our past collaboration with Madbricks was impressive, and this acquisition marks a natural progression in our partnership. As a company with a strong focus on emerging markets, Madbricks will play a crucial role in solidifying our presence in the South American gaming industry." Over the past few years, Amber has been actively expanding its global network of work-for-hire studios, with acquisitions in Mexico, Ukraine, Poland, Taiwan, and the Philippines. The company received a $20 million investment in October 2022 to support its expansion efforts.
